Mindfully providing research-based mental health counseling throughout Western Pennsylvania.

Stress, loss, trauma, life transitions, and mental health disorders can leave us feeling as if we are in a trance, disconnected from the world and ourselves. There are effective options to help you feel awake and alive, so that you can engage life to the fullest. I strive to integrate mindfulness-based practices with other research-based approaches to meet your individual needs.

What is mindfulness?

More so now than ever before, we are constantly on the run and bombarded with seemingly endless tasks, responsibilities, demands, and triggers. Our lifestyles pull us in so many different directions. No sooner than finishing one task, our mind involuntarily begins working through the next task. When our bodies stop, our mind often continues to worry about the future or revisit the past. Eventually, this pattern wares us down, and we begin to feel disconnected from others, life, and even ourselves. We might identify this nagging pain as stress, depression, anxiety, or some other disorder or issue with us.

Mindfulness is a practice that helps us change our perspective on our thoughts and behaviors, so that we can really be there for the most valued aspects of our lives. We become less constricted by our habits and patterns and experience freedom and joy.

Research-Based Therapy

Beginning therapy can be difficult and time consuming. Searching for a clinician who appeals to you, and who also has availability, requires much time and energy. Your time and resources during therapy are valuable too. It's important for clinicians to use techniques, practices, and treatments that are likely to meet your individual needs.
